2025 problems?

I might have done a thing today, figured it was time for the 900 to go. I use mine for work, weed spraying to be exact, so it makes money and not just a toy, although my grandkids might argue that. Anybody hearing or having problems with the 2025 XP??

Not from what I've been reading from owners. Everyone loves how the updated trans shifts compared to previous years.

Hoping to pick up my 25 1000 Northstar from the repair shop today. With 150 hours on it it developed an issue where the rear differential would not unlock. Ended up being an issue in the wiring harness. They are replacing the entire machine harness, under warranty at their expense for around $2500. 15 hour job from what they told me. Hoping this is the exception and not the rule as we don’t have enough time yet on these other range 1000s to know if they really have any issues. I don’t mind working on things but problems like this is just not necessary.

I'm always leery of the full harness replacement. My leeriness comes from the technician's ability, and care, to correctly route everything. I've seen two where a dealer did a full replacement only to have issues later. In one instance the harness was pinched which finally broke a wire. In the other, the harness was ran across a sharp edge which of course cut into the harness.

Sometimes it's necessary but other times a simple repair can be made. Full harness replacement seems to be the dealership norm.

I agree, if it was under me and not under warranty. I’m sure I would be searching the harness for the bad connection.. The dealership tells me it just isn’t worth their labor to chase and tear apart a harness to try to find a break versus replacing the harness entirely. They also say that in the last year or two they are running into more quality issues from Polaris where are the machines are not put together as competently. Electrical connections not being fully plugged in, Fasteners not fully tightened, harness is not routed quite correctly. The list goes on.

I don’t know where the machines are assembled these days. But having those type of issues just because of poor assembly, doesn’t speak well for the longevity.

Having an 09/700, I'm use to wiring problems, hope it's better. This one has a 2 year warranty and I have a good dealer, hopefully I can get him to throw in an oil change kit. Probably to early to ask but anyone seen a service manual other then Polaris? Use to take 2 years before aftermarket has them. Dealer had 4 XP's in stock and one coming that is the color I want, patiently waiting, sold the 900 so I'm without and springs a coming.

So I got mine back yesterday.

They threw a new harness in it. And that did not fix the problem…… initially. Then they threw in a ECU out of an another Northstar, problem was still there. Took it out out of the shop shut the machine off turned it back on everything started working. Put my old ECU back in. Everything still functional.!

While I am happy, everything is working, I’m not confident the problem is solved

The mechanic who worked on it also did tell me he found quite a few loose bolts, which they have been finding on these newer machines. He said they had one just the other day that the bolts holding the torsion bar system were not tight.

I am hoping yours is a good unit Pede, but I would have your dealer go over it with a fine tooth comb to make sure things are tight and it’s ready to roll

Picked mine up Wednesday, dealer buddy told me at idle it only runs on one cylinder, forgot to ask if it shuts off the gas/spark or both, can see someone scratching there head on that one trying to figure why it won't run right. Also asked about changing the start in park only, that takes an ECM flash, going to take some getting use to.

Congratulations on the new unit!
I guess I don’t know about them running on one cylinder at idle, sounds like they run on both to me. I do know that if you make some short trips and shut off before it’s warmed up fully, it will load up on fuel and you’ll have a hard start situation they don’t handle short tripping as well as the older stuff does.

yes, I agree, but not being able to start in gear is also a PITA for me as well.

He said you can't tell, and I agree, but as soon as it comes off idle the second kicks in. The old 700 needed to warm up, it never got hard to start but would make oil. I am struggling with power steering, it's nice but IMO just something else to screw up, lost the feel for the road, also going to have to keep an closer eye front tire pressure now.

Pump a quart of this into each tire and the pressure wont vary a 1/8 of a pound till the tire is replaced.

Getting a little off topic about potential 2025 problems but has anyone mixed tire sealant and had issues? For example if I have Slime in my tires and top off with the stuff in the link would that cause problems? Seems to me it would be ok but figured I would ask. I need to put some in my tires on my new Ranger. I have some Slime but not enough for all 4 tires so I need to buy some more.

The tunnel? Not on a 25. Having issues getting the cup holder loose?

Lift the seat and take the tray out above the battery. There's a push pin on the back side of the cup holders. It's a b*tch to get to. But it's there. A mirror might make it easier to see.

My adventure continues, unbolting the fuse box gave me easy access, lost a bolt in the belly putting it back, several hours and the next day I'm at my dealer for a new one, he gave me 2. So now I'm snugging things up and drop the frickin 10mm and extension.....I gave up on that one, never did find it but I did find the bolt I lost the day before plus a couple others that were dropped during assemble.

I was fairly sure that was correct, however.....my prewired turn signal kit was wired to the red for power(fuse) didn't want it that way so I cut/spliced the hot lead to yellow, and it works with the key off.....kit came with prewired loom, has 4 red and 4 amber led's, rocker switch and bus bar plug.

A problem appeared, tail pipe broke off the muffler. I can't find any rubs where it has hit and the brake is clean and not miss aligned just past the weld, it's like it just popped off. I was working with it so it's not because I hit something and I had spent 3 days hauling full loads, when it broke I had less then 1/2 a load.
